Overcoming creative blocks, shaping, funding and ultimately securing an audience for a project are all part of the experience of artistic creativity and production today.  PORTLAND GREEN, an organisation that commissions, produces, exhibits and distributes artists’ moving image works, is launching sessions that will give artists assistance with the choices and obstacles that occur in the creative process, from conception through to delivery. 

Artist and filmmaker Tim Meara, choreographer Rafael Bonachela and dancer Amy Hollingsworth have been commissioned by Centre Pompidou and PORTLAND GREEN to create a short film about Lucian Freud.

Granted extraordinary access to the notoriously private artist, the film, 'Small Gestures in Bare Rooms', features Freud himself and has been made to coincide with and be screened from mid-May at the artist’s current retrospective at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, which runs to 19 July 2010.
