Prix Pictet

Prix Pictet is the world’s first photography award to focus on the global issue of sustainability and is sponsored by Swiss private bank, Pictet & Cie.

Each year the Prix Pictet focuses on a distinct sustainability theme. In 2008 the theme was ‘water’ and for 2009 it was ‘earth’. The 2009 first prize of £60,000 was awarded to Nadav Kander for his series of photographs "Yangtze, The Long River".  At the same time, Ed Kashi was invited to complete the 2009 Commission, to produce a series of photographs that highlight many of the issues threatening Madagascar.  He went to the island, which is a biodiversity "hotspot" with Pictet appointed charity, Azafady.

The series of photographs that Kashi made in Madagascar go on show at Diemar Noble Photography gallery from 20 April - 1 May 2010.

The schedule for the next cycle of the prize, Prix Pictet III, will be announced at the annual photography festival in France, Les Rencontres d’Arles, 8 July 2010.

TSP manage the PR campaign for Prix Pictet 2009 and has been retained to work on Prix Pictet III.
